Blog Post #29: The Jellyfish Reign
Hello everyone, yes I know it’s been two weeks since my last post. Life happens sometimes :)
Since the last time I wrote, I went on a solo trip to Montreal (and celebrated the existence of ripe mangoes), made a new friend who loves running (especially at night), and moved back into my dorm at school for RA training (my glorious, single room where I live how I want and sleep how I want). That is to say, it’s been a flurry of activity. Among all that, I’ve found my way back to the practice rooms at school- and it feels amazing. After my summer of being alive, coming back to the piano is like my way of processing and celebrating all the ways I’ve grown in just three months. The practice room is my sanctuary, my place to find peace and find myself amidst the chaos of the world.
My brain is full of life right now, but all I can say is that I’m still the Laura who lives fully and loves fully as well. Other thoughts- crayons, jellyfish, noodles, sunlight on my face, lush green leaves filling the trees in summer, and the sound of crickets in the night air. The taste of chai made with my friend’s grandmother’s homemade chai masala. Scent of new beginnings and acceptance of old truths. Fair trade certified tuna.
I would apologize for the lack of structure in this blog post, but it’s Laura, Unedited for a reason. I’m so happy to have you with me on this journey ♡.
